What is CB certification?
The CB system is a set of global mutual recognition system for electronic products established by the IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission’s Organization for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Products, English name TheIEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Equipment). Mutual recognition of test results to obtain national certification or approval, thereby promoting international trade. Most electrical and electronic products need to meet different regulations and industry requirements when entering the markets of various countries. In the past, it was a difficult and time-consuming process to obtain product safety registration or safety certification in various countries. But now relying on the CB system, this situation will never happen again. The CB system is a very convenient procedure. Participating countries can mutually recognize each other's test results, and there is usually no need for additional tests.
The necessity of CB certification
It is the foundation of the CB system that the product safety test results of electrical and electronic equipment are accepted globally. After successfully completing the test, a CB test certificate and corresponding CB test report will be issued for the product. These two documents together constitute a pass, and the manufacturer can apply for national certification from any national certification body in the country or region participating in the CB system, and no additional testing is usually required. In addition, when applying for CB certification, it is necessary to inform the country to be considered for inclusion in the report, so that the corresponding national differences can be taken into account when testing.
CB certification product range
At present, the CB system covers electronic game devices, test equipment, power supply cables, capacitors and parts, lighting, household appliances, protection devices, transformers, office and IT equipment, and medical equipment, with a total of 180 products in 14 categories. CB laboratory (CBTL) is a laboratory accepted by the CB system, authorized by the specific National Certification Body (NCB) to perform product testing and issue test reports. Manufacturers can obtain CB reports and certificates from the national certification body of any country, and transfer them to other safety certificates through the national certification body under the country's CB system.
CB certification data preparation
1. Product instruction manual.
2. Safety design files (including key structure drawings, that is, design drawings that can reflect the climbing distance, gap, number of insulating layers and thickness).
3. Product technical conditions (or corporate standards).
4. Product electrical schematic diagram.
5. Product circuit diagram.
6. List of key components or raw materials (please choose products with European certification marks).
7. A copy of the certificate of the whole machine or components.
8. Other required information
CB certification factory inspection
No factory inspection required
CB certification cycle
The routine is 2-3 weeks, but it can be expedited, and extra charges will be required for expediting
