IMEI

Overview

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is the abbreviation of International Mobile Equipment Identity. International Mobile Equipment Identity is an "electronic serial number" composed of 15 digits. It corresponds to each mobile phone one by one, and the code is worldwide only. Each mobile phone will be assigned a globally unique set of numbers after assembly. This number will be recorded by the manufacturer from production to delivery.

The IMEI code is uniformly assigned by GSM (Global Association for Mobile Communications) and authorized to be reviewed and accepted by BABT (British Communications Certification Management Committee).

IMEI consists of 15 digits, and its composition is:

1. The first 6 digits (TAC, Type ApprovalCode) is the "model approval number", which generally represents the model.

2. The next 2 digits (FAC, Final Assembly Code) is the "Final Assembly Code", which generally represents the place of production.

3. The next 6 digits (SNR) is the "serial number", which generally represents the production sequence number.

4. The last digit (SP) is usually "0", which is the check code and is reserved.

The IMEI code is unique, affixed to the logo on the back of the phone, and read and write in the phone memory. It is also the "file" and "ID number" of the manufacturer of the mobile phone.
